Covid-19: 32 positive cases from Sun Siyam Olhuveli resort

Male’, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated that 32 positive Covid-19 cases have been confirmed from Sun Siyam Olhuveli resort.

According to HPA, all the positive cases from the Olhuveli were staffs who are currently working at the resort. In addition to this, 55 cases had also been confirmed from the country in the past twenty-four hours.

Thirty of the confirmed 87 cases were recorded from the greater Malé area, 13 from the islands and 41 cases from the operational resorts in Maldives. In addition to this, three cases had also been recorded from liver boards.

While 87 people tested positive for the virus within the last twenty-four hours, 31 people have completely recovered from the virus over the past 24 hours. Along with these 31 recoveries, the total recoveries has now reached 13,505. The recovery rate has increased rapidly from less than 60% to 94% over the past months.

Up to date, 49 people have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 42 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.
