Covid-19: Additional 51 confirmed cases and 35 recoveries

Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) announces additional 51 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 25 recoveries over the past 24 hours.

19 of the confirmed 51 cases were recorded from the greater Malé area, 03 from the islands and the remaining 28 cases from the operational resorts in Maldives and 01 from Live aboard.

With these 51 cases that were confirmed over the past 24 hours, Maldives now has a total 916 active cases at present, summing up the confirmed positive cases to date to a total of 14,513.

35 people have completely recovered from the virus over the past 24 hours and the total recoveries has now reached 13,540. The recovery rate has increased rapidly from less than 60% to 92% over the past months.

To date, 49 people have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 42 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.
