Covid-19: Additional 51 confirmed cases over the past 24 hours

Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) announces additional 51 confirmed cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours.

32 of the confirmed 51 cases were recorded from the greater Malé area, 02 from the islands and the remaining 17 cases from the operational resorts in Maldives.

With these 51 cases that were confirmed over the past 24 hours, Maldives now has a total 962 active cases, summing up the confirmed positive cases to date to a total of 14,633.

The recovery rate has increased rapidly from less than 60% to 92% over the past months, totaling up to 13,615 cases to date.

To date, 49 people have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 42 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.

Maldives is set to receive the Oxford-Astrazeneca ‘Covishield’ vaccine from India today.
