Covid-19: Additional 55 confirmed cases and 82 recoveries

Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) announces additional 55 confirmed cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours.

31 of the confirmed 55 cases were recorded from the greater Malé area, only 09 from the islands and the remaining 15 cases from the operational resorts in Maldives with no cases recorded from Live aboard and Islands under development.

With these 55 confirmed cases, Maldives now has a total 1,015 active cases, summing up the confirmed positive cases to date to a total of 14,885.

The recovery rate has increased rapidly from less than 60% to 92% over the past months, totaling up to 13,813 cases to date.

To date, 50 people have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 43 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.
