Covid-19: Over a Thousand active cases in the Maldives

Malé, Maldives – The number of active cases are rising steadily since end of December 2020, adding up 1042 cases.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announces additional 65 confirmed cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours. 38 of the confirmed 65 cases were recorded from the greater Malé area, only 1 from the islands and the remaining 26 cases from the operational resorts in Maldives with no cases recorded from Live aboard and Islands under development.

With these 65 confirmed cases, Maldives now has a total 1,042 active cases, summing up the confirmed positive cases to date to a total of 14,830.

To date, 50 people have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 43 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.
