Malé, Maldives – HPA has just confirmed that today at 7:33PM, an 88-year-old Maldivian man admitted at HMF has passed away.
HPA offered their thoughts and prayers for the bereaved and his family.
This is the 52nd COVID-19 death in the Maldives.
The deceased are 45 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.
Maldives now has a total 1,582 active cases, summing up the confirmed positive cases to date to a total of 15,736.
While the recovery case had initially increased rapidly from less than 60 percent to 94 percent, it has now gradually decreased to 89 percent over the past few weeks. This takes the total recovery cases to 14,096 cases to date.
