Covid-19: Contacts of 2 clusters in Fuvahmulah top 620!

Fuvahmulah City, Maldives – Fuvahmulah Hospital has revealed that 620 individuals have been identified as contacts of the two active clusters of Covid-19 in the city.

According to authorities, one cluster is connected to an individual who was in quarantine after arriving to the city from Dubai, while the other cluster was identified when two individuals consulted the flu clinic in the city.

Detailing the discovery of high contacts in connection to the clusters, Senior Community Officer of Fuvahmulah Hospital Aminath Ahmed said that 61 individuals were identified as contacts of one of the two individuals who tested positive from the flu clinic, while the other individual had 31 contacts.

With this, the number of contacts has reached 620, which includes 25 individuals who fall into the high risk category, and 15 individuals who are symptomatic.

Since the first case out of quarantine, the single island city has been placed under monitoring, with strict movement restrictions until all contacts are identified, quarantined and tested.
