Addu City, Maldives – The Southern Stallions, the team responsible for bringing five horses to Addu City for entertainment purposes have revealed that the horses are scheduled to arrive by Sunday at the latest, and reassured the public that the horses will be well taken care of and kept safe.
Amid recent public outrage over bringing the horses to a country which lacks veterinary care, the team reassured the public via Twitter, stating that a vet and relevant food and medicinal care were arranged prior to the shipping of the horses.
The announcement of the horses arrival was first made by the Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed back in August of 2020, where he revealed that an individual had obtained necessary documentation and certifications to bring the animals to Addu.
