Sewage systems being installed in Maradhoo roads under resurfacing

Addu City, Maldives – Addu City Council said that pipes for the sewage system are now being installed in Maradhoo, on roads that do not have them, and are currently being resurfaced under the development project with GK Development Private limited.

Addu City Council tweeted saying that the sewage systems were being installed in the roads that did not have them, by Fenaka Corporation Limited. They added that the work is in progress at a fast pace.

The roads are being resurfaced under an agreement with GK Development Private Limited.

The agreement assigning this project to GK Developments Prvt.Ltd was signed on 23rd December 2019. Under this project assigned to GK Developments Private Limited by the government, asphalt is to be put on 18 new roads and 3 main roads in Maradhoo, Maradhoofeydhoo and Feydhoo will be resurfaced.

Addu council said that this product project worth MVR 134 million will help find a solution to the problems caused due to bad conditions of roads. The road surfaces were initially installed without installing sewage pipes or cables which lead to the resurfacing.

In addition to this, the council also said that a second project for road development is also being prepared for.
