JUST IN: Drugs washing up on HA. atoll beaches

HA. Kelaa, Maldives – Drugs are washing up on the beaches in HA. Atoll islands.

Local news outlet “Avas” reports that packets containing suspected drugs are being found on beaches of HA. Filladhoo, Vashafaru, and Dhidhoo, with Filladhoo finding the highest number of packets.

Filladhoo council President, Ibrahim Shiham informed “Sun” that a large sack weighing 25Kg, containing small packets was found near the island at 11:30 this morning. A fishing boat found this sack of suspected drugs and has now handed over to the police for further investigation.

A police team is now active in the islands. Police have revealed no further details on the matter.
