GA. Villingili, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has placed GA. Villingili under monitoring.
According to HPA, a person who travelled to the island under authorization had tested positive and the island had been placed under monitoring until contact tracing was completed.
Under the monitoring status no one will be allowed to enter or leave from the island without approval from HPA. Including Villingili, 10 islands are currently under monitoring status after Covid-19 cases had been confirmed.
At present, there are over 207 active Covid-19 cases among the atolls of Maldives and that eight islands are under monitoring status due to the active cases. Maldives has recorded a total of 22,662 Covid-19 cases in the country.
