Covid-19: Additional 5 people test positive from K.Hura

K.Hura, Maldives – Kaafu Atoll Hura Health Center has revealed that additional five people have tested positive for Covid-19.

K. Huraa was placed under monitoring status on March 23, 2021 after an individual taken from K. Huraa to Male’ city tested positive for Covid-19.

The Council of Huraa had detailed the situation and stated that a 72-year-old individual was taken to Male’ city from Huraa as his health condition deteriorated. The elderly patient was found positive for Covid-19 after the IGMH hospital took a sample of the elderly patient to test for the virus. 

The cases in K.Hura have been confirmed wile 66 cases from Lh.Felivaru was confirmed earlier this evening.

The Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) had earlier noted that for the first time, the number of active Covid-19 cases has increased by 270 in the atolls of Maldives since the virus outbreak took place in Maldives.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) had revealed that the country has recorded a total of 23,091 cases including 162 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the Maldives yesterday, along with 80 recoveries. Since the country recorded its first case of Covid-19, Maldives has reported 66 deaths in connection to Covid-19. The deceased are 59 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.
