Covid-19: Six cases active in Addu City

Addu City, Maldives – Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has revealed that there are a total of five active cases of Covid-19 in Addu City, as of 29th March, 2021.

This includes 3 cases from Hithadhoo, 1 case from Hulhudhoo, and 2 from Gan. Out of this, the four individuals from Hithadhoo and Hulhudhoo have all been identified as locals.

So far, all active cases in the city have been linked to travel related quarantines, and hence, have not resulted in any direct contacts or local transmissions as of yet.

With this, there are currently a total of 471 active cases of Covid-19 with in the atolls of Maldives, in inhabited islands of the country.

As of now, 23,671 cases of Covid-19 has been recored in the Maldives, out of which, 20,839 patients have made full recoveries. Unfortunately, 66 deaths have been recorded in the country due to Covid-19 so far.
