MDP members were given jobs, will get more jobs: President Solih

Malé, Maldives – The President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that many Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) members have been given jobs and that he would try to provide more in the future.

The President said this in response to a question by the press about MDP activists with low qualifications being allocated jobs while educated youth are in desperate need for jobs.

President Solih added that the government has given many positions to the members in accordance to the number o jobs that were available, and that would continue to do so.

President Solih further added that all qualified people have been given jobs. Addressing the board member recommendations, the President said that he gave priority to qualified people. President Solih also said that there are other authorities who check the eligibility of the people whose names he sends, and that the authorities’ approval is needed to hire a member for a job.
