Flats to be developed in two locations of Malé City

Malé, Maldives – Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced for invitations for proposals for “Development of Mixed Residential Buildings” in Malé City.

According to FDC, a 14 floor (45m) apartment buildings with a total gross floor area of 231,073.78 sqft in Block 307 which is 18,946 sqft big and another tower of 14 floor (45m) apartment buildings with a total gross floor area of 173,229.56 sqft in Block 319 which is 14,288 sqft big would be built.

FDC also stated that MVR 500,000 must be kept as bid security for local parties and USD 100,000 should be kept for foreign parties who apply for the project. Submission of the proposals should be done on June 16, 2021 and bidding would be done on the same day as well.

President Solih had previously stated that the construction of at least 5,000 units in total will begin in the Male’ area before the end of this year and that the government was working on formulating plans to provide housing for people from Malé during the presidential address on February 4, 2021.

In addition to these two projects announced, FDC has previously signed an agreement on February 2, 2021 with Indian government company National Buildings Construction Company (NBCC) to design, finance and build 2,000 housing units in Malé City projected to be completed in 900 days.
