2 test positive at Fuvahmulah flu clinic

Fuvahmulah City, Maldives – Two people who went to the Fuvahmulah City flu clinic have tested for Covid-19.

According to the information received by ‘The Times of Addu’, these individuals do not have any travel history nor in quarantine in the recent past and consulted the flu clinic after being symptomatic.

With the two confirmed cased the city has been placed under monitoring and contact tracing has begun.

Announcing the monitoring status, the notice issued by Directory General of Public Health, Maimoona Abubakr read that no movement from and to the city was allowed until further notice without prior approval from the agency.

While Maldives recorded the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases since the pandemic hit the tiny island nation with 734 cases yesterday, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 32,665 out of which 25,473 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 5, 2021. Currently the total number of active cases in the country stands at 7,109.
