Police investigates MDP parliamentarian, Ahmed Easa’s domestic violence case

Malé, Maldives – Maldives Police Serivice (MPS) has started to investigate a domestic violence case against Kendhikulhudhoo constituency, Ahmed Easa.

According to his neighbors, the case against him was filed for attacking his wife Asra Naeem (Asoo) who is also the younger sister of Vice President of Maldives, Faisal Naseem.

While Maldivian Democratic Party’s parliamentarian Ahmed Easa has refused to comment on the matter, local media have reported that MPS had attended the scene during the night of the incident and his wife had received treatment at hospital for the injuries.

Maldives Police Service had not revealed further details but ‘The Times of Addu’ has confirmed that the case was lodged last night and that Asra has given her statement against MDP MP Easa today.
