Covid-19: Over 200 recoveries recorded in Addu City

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has revealed that 210 people have recovered from Covid-19 in Addu City.

From the statistics revealed by AEH, there are 65 cases from Hithadhoo, 08 cases from Maradhoo, 01 case from MaradhooFeydhoo, 01 cases from Feydhoo, 21 cases from Hulhudhoo, 01 cases from Meedhoo and 01 case from South Palm Resort which are currently active in Addu City. 

This also comes while the city had recorded only one additional Covid-19 case yesterday and today as well brining the total active cases in the city to 98. According to AEH, from the 98 active cases, 347 active direct contacts have been identified.

Following discussions of the newly sworn in city council, Health Protection Agency (HPA) has extended the curfew imposed in the city from 1600hrs till 0400hrs for a week from June 2, 2021, onwards. 

During curfew times, going out in public and the operation of any vehicles on the road is prohibited. 

Further restrictions imposed stated that going out in groups of more than three was not allowed under the new guidelines and when out, masks are always mandatory in the region.

In addition to these, dine-ins and operations of roadside food stalls, gyms and hair saloons has also been suspended, with only delivery allowed for restaurants and cafés.

However, shops will be open as per the Health Protection Agency (HPA) guidelines during curfew times and only take away services from restaurants to be provided before curfew times.
