Covid-19: 39 new cases in Addu City, 6 hospitalized!

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) reveals that yesterday, Addu City confirmed a total of 39 new Covid-19 cases, with six patients hospitalized.

The statistics released by AEH shows that with the additional 39 cases confirmed yesterday, the total number of confirmed cases in Addu City has risen to 1,051, out of which 307 cases remain active. Along with this, AEH reveals that there are six hospitalized cases currently in the city.

At present, the most number of active cases are in Maradhoo with 144 cases, followed by Hithadhoo with 91 active Covid-19 cases and Feydhoo with 22 cases, while Maradhoofeydhoo has 10 cases and Gan has one active case as well. The remaining two islands in Addu City, Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo was brought into monitoring status on September 4th after Covid-19 cases started to rise in the islands. AEH informs that there are 29 active cases in Meedhoo and 10 active cases in Hulhudhoo as of this Sunday.

Apart from this, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) also revealed the addition of 169 Covid-29 cases in the Maldives. It was detailed that out of the 169 cases, 53 were from the Malé area, while 96 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also revealed that 20 new cases were found from operational resorts, adding upto 2,057 active cases in the country.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Maldives has reached 81 979 out of which 79,683 patients have made full recoveries, as of September 4, 2021.
