COVID-19: Active cases above 300 in Addu City!

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) reveals that Addu City the total active cases in Addu is at 302.

The statistics released by AEH shows that with the additional 9 cases confirmed yesterday, the total number of active cases in Addu City has risen to 302.

At present, the most number of active cases are in Maradhoo with 138 cases, followed by Hithadhoo with 86 active Covid-19 cases and Feydhoo with 28 cases, while Maradhoofeydhoo has 10 cases and Gan has one active case. The remaining two islands in Addu City, Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo was brought into monitoring status on September 4th after Covid-19 cases started to rise in the islands. AEH informs that there are 32 active cases in Meedhoo and 10 active cases in Hulhudhoo as of this Sunday.

Additionally, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) reveals that 165 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Maldives. It was detailed that out of the 165 cases, 51 were from the Malé area, while 103 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also revealed that 11 new cases were found from operational resorts, adding upto 2,117 active cases in the country.

With this Maldives continues the trend of higher percentage of cases recorded in the islands.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Maldives has reached 82,264 out of which 79,907 patients have made full recoveries, as of September 7, 2021.
