Labor Relations open for complaints regarding lack of pay

Malé, Maldives – The labor Relations Authority had requested for employees not receiving their due salary and other allowances and bonuses such as Ramadan allowance to submit complaints to the authority.

Labor Relations Authority stated that they have established a system under the 19th section of the general law regarding jobs for employees to submit complaints related to lack of pay and other benefits such as Ramadan bonus.

The authority stated that forms to submit complaints will be available from their website and also the counter of their main office from 8th June onwards. These forms can be submitted online through their website and also directly to their office.

Many complaints from employees have recently emerged saying that they are not receiving their due salary as well as bonuses and other allowances due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The law mandates for all Maldivian employees to receive their due pay on time and also receive the annual Ramadan allowance of MVR 3000.
