Malé council member elected as JP candidate changes to PPM

Malé, Maldives — Malé city councilor, Aminath Yumna who got elected for the council as a candidate of Jumhoori Party changes to the opposition PPM party.

Councilor for Hulhumalé and the Vice President of the PNC coalition, Ibrahim Shujaau tweeted earlier today to congratulate and welcome Yumna to PPM.

PPM took over the majority of the Capital Malé city in the 2021 elections defeating the ruling MDP party with a big lead. With the signing off Yumna to PPM party, there are now a total of 12 councilors and 5 MDP councilors in the Malé city council.
