Belgium takes lead in Group B after winning the match against Russia 3 to nil.
A night which shocked the football world to its core, following an unexpected incident stopped the previous match as Denmark’s Christian Eriksen collapsed during and was rushed to the hospital.
Several players of the Belgium team had played along with Eriksen, among them Belgium’s striker Romelu Lukaku who scored the first goal of the match ran to the cameras, held the lens and shouted “Chris, Chris, I love you!”.
Thomas Meunier scored Belgium’s second goal of the evening with a ball gifted to him as the Russian keeper struggled to hold the ball. Lukaku scored for the second time on the night in the second half to give Belgium an easy three points.
The previous match was later restarted, half an hour prior to the Belgium match, after both teams found out Eriksen was stable. Reports from Denmark said Eriksen facetimed the team to give them support and encouraged them play it.
The remaining fifty minutes was played where Finland scored a goal and Denmark’s Hojberg missed a penalty. Match ended with Finland’s first win ever in their first game in the competition.
