COVID-19: Maldives death toll reaches 203

Male’, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Friday announced the 202 and 203 OVID-19 related fatalities in Maldives.

The 202nd death was a 68-year-old Maldivian female. She was admitted to the Hulhumale Medical Facility (HMF), and was declared dead at 0205hrs.

An 82-year-old Maldivian male admitted at the Laamu Covid Management Facility was declared dead at 0706 hrs. This was the 203 death.

Maldives has been slowly recovering from one of the biggest surges faced by the country since recording the very first cases. Due to the high number of cases, the number of fatalities had also increased rapidly, with 88 deaths in May alone.

Since the beginning of June, 39 people have passed from COVID-19 in the country.
