England beats Germany 2 goals to nil, securing a quarter final spot as Joachim Low says goodbye to his job after 15 years.
Both goals of the match scored late in the second half, even though England looked clinical throughout the match. Raheem Sterling took the lead on the 75th minute of the game.
Thomas Muller got Germany’s best chance of the game, almost immediately after the Sterling goal. He went one-on-one with the English shot stopper Jordan Pickford. But the experienced forward shot the ball wide.
Jack Grealish and Luke Shaw’s combination created the second goal of the game. Grealish crossing an inch perfect ball which captain Harry Kane easily converted into the goal, giving England the deserved win.
England will face the winner of Sweden vs Ukraine match in the quarter finals. If they manage to go through to the semis, they will face either Czech Republic or Denmark.
With tonight’s defeat, Joachim Low, the German head coach will step aside as the coach of Germany National Football team after 15 years. He has won the World Cup in 2014 which gave him the best coach of the year award in the following year.
