MDP removes member for threatening to bomb Indian High Commission

Malé, Maldives – Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) on Sunday, removed Mohamed Inad, a local member of the political party, as he is currently under arrest for tweeting, calling out to bomb the Indian High Commission.

MDP said that they took action against the 42 year old local, after verifying the investigation done by Maldives Police Service. The party added that these types of actions are not endorsed by MDP and called out to convict such criminals to the highest degree. The party also called out the relevant authorities to give out the deserved punishment to the alleged.

The tweet that got the attention of the public yesterday, stated that they need an RDX to bomb the Indian High Commission and that it will be happening soon. The tweet was sent out from a fake account under the name “Royal Hussain Thakuru”.

The Serious and Organised Crime Department is currently investigating the case, taking into account the seriousness of the matter.
