One of the most prolific defender in modern history, Sergio Ramos leaves Real Madrid after 16 years, joins Paris Saint German in France.

Real Madrid let Ramos go as a free agent this summer as his contract expired. Real achieved 4 champions leagues and 5 La liga titles with Ramos as the solid center back. The 35 year-old Spanish international was left aside majority of the season due to injuries, resulting him being excluded in the Spain’s team from Euros.

Ramos signed for PSG and told the media he wanted to keep winning. And PSG is the one team that can help him with that mission, he said. “The best place to keep on dreaming, the best club to keep on winning,” said Ramos in a post on social media. “We’re going to fight with everything we have for everything. Allez.”

Real Madrid offered their captain a one year deal. But Ramos wanted two years, he was waiting for the club to change his mind, but they took the offer after deciding not to wait for an answer from Ramos. In an emotional farewell to the fans, Ramos said he wanted two years and didn’t realize there was an expiration date for the offer. He was just informed that they decided not to give another contract to him.

PSG offered Ramos a two year deal, just as he wanted and more. They even gave him his official jersey number, the number 4 worn currently by defender Tilo.
