Inquiry report not officially shared with the President yet: Spokesperson Mabrook

Malé, Maldives – Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Mohamed Mabrook Azeez informs that the inquiry report on the May 6 Attack compiled by the Parliament’s Committee on National Security Services (241 Committee) has not been officially shared with the President yet.

In response to the multiple questions asked by journalist, Spokesperson of the President, Mabrook informed that the inquiry report regarding the terror attack against Speaker Mohamed Nasheed on May 6 has not been officially shared with the President yet, however, Mabrook stated that at present, the relevant authorities are examining the inquiry report.

Noting that the report was passed by the Parliament early Friday, Spokesperson Mabrook stated that time is not a factor for the delay in sharing the report with the President.

The inquiry report compiled by the Parliament’s Committee on National Security Services (241 Committee) was publicized on Friday after redacting confidential information regarding national security.

However, the confidential information has now been leaked. “The Times of Addu” refrains from revealing the leaked information and how it was leaked as it may effect national security.
