America donates 100,000 test kits to Maldives

Malé, Maldives – The American Government on Thursday, has donated 100,000 Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) test kits to Maldives.

The American Ambassador to Maldives Alaina Taplitz said that, as the leading country in providing medical aid, America will continue to support Maldives in their fight against Covid-19. She added that the 100,000 test kits are among the USD 5 million aid America has been providing to Maldives since the pandemic began.

The test kits were delivered to the Health Ministry via US Aid. America has previously aided Maldives on various occasions as well.

Maldives recently saw the biggest wave of Covid-19 to have hit the country since the pandemic began. However, the number of cases have now decreased by a huge margin, and the country is progressing towards a recovery. Locals are advised to strictly follow HPA guidelines to minimize the spread of rhe disease as much as possible.
