Maldives to issue driving licenses to individuals from 25 countries without a test

Male’, Maldives – Transport Ministry has revealed that they have decided to issue driving licenses to license holders from 25 countries without a driving test.

Transport Ministry revealed that they have decided to give individuals from 25 countries license from Maldives without going through a test. They are:

  • Afghanistan
  • Butan
  • India
  • Nepal
  • Pakistan
  • Sri Lanka
  • Buruna
  • Cambodia
  • Indonesia
  • Laos
  • Malaysia
  • Myanmar
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam
  • Japan
  • United Kingdom
  • United States of America
  • China
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Switzerland
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Belgium
  • Germany

Under the fourth amendment brought to the Land Transportation Act of Maldives, if an individual has proper license from a country accepted by the Ministry, then the Ministry receives power to release permenant license to that individual without a test.
