Malé, Maldives — Mayor of Addu City, Ali Nizar stated that he will be officially presenting a project to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to build a bridge in Addu City.
Speaking at the “Addu Voice” panel discussion at Club House, Nizar informed that the Council has not yet had an official discussion regarding the development of a bridge that would connect Hulhumeedhoo to the connecting islands of Addu City. However, he said that once the City Council receives a chance to directly meet President Solih, they will present a Addu bridge project to the President.
In fact, Nizar stated that the Council has also decided to request the expenses needed in preparing the bridge design concept to be included in next year’s budget.
I request all citizens of Addu to raise their voices and demand for it.

Nizar calculated that the bridge construction work can be done with approximately USD 15 million, with a cost of maximum USD 400 million, considering that the dept of the bridge is between 30-40 and a full length of either 14km or 14.5km.
Building a bridge in Addu City is an electoral vow of Ali Nizar.
