President Solih pledges to complete all Addu projects within this term

Addu City, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has given assurance that all projects planned for Addu City will be completed in this term.

Speaking at a virtual meeting with Members of the Addu City Council, Mayor of Addu, Ali Nizar revealed that the President gave assurance to the council that all projects planned for the development of the city will be completed during this term.

Mayor Nizar stated that finding a solution for the main problems that Addu City faces along with having a bridge that connects Hulhumeedhoo to Hithadhoo would bring the people of Addu to another level.

Noting that Addu is a populous city, President Solih stated that he would find a way for the government to pay special attention to Addu City so the development projects will be carried out without any halt. This includes of finding a solution for the road development project, sewerage system upgrade, commercial port, housing projects, health-care services, education and other socioeconomic difficulties.

Although the Council has been entrusted with a considerable amount of responsibility under the amendments to the Decentralisation Act, President Solih stated that the government attaches great importance to facilitating the smooth operation of the PSIP projects.
