Maldives Customs apprehends a Brazilian possessing drugs worth over MVR 15 million

Male’, Maldives – Maldives Customs Service, this Friday apprehended a brazilian for possession of drugs worth MVR 15 million in street value.

The luggage of a 31 year old Brazilian woman who arrived to Maldives on Friday afternoon was checked by the Customs due to her unusual behavior. Customs inform that they found items suspected to have been drugs from the luggage.

Upon testing the products, Custom stated that the substance was confirmed to have been Cocaine and revealed that the Brazilian woman was in possession of 3.197kg of drugs. This has a street value of MVR 15,985,000 in Maldives, according to the Customs.

The drugs and the Brazilian has been taken under the custody of Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
