Covid-19: 120 new cases recorded from the islands!

Malé, Maldives – The Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Friday, confirmed additional 179 Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

In the statistics released by HPA, it was detailed that out of the 179 cases, 42 were from the Malé area, while 120 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also revealed that 17 new cases were found from operational resorts, leaving 1,966 active cases in the country.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Maldives has reached 81,653 out of which 79,448 patients have made full recoveries, as of September 3rd, 2021.

While there are 1966 active cases within the country, Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) reveals that 250 active cases are from the southernmost atoll, Addu City with the addition of 28 new cases that were confirmed yesterday; 10 cases from Maradhoo and two cases from Feydhoo, 4 cases from Hithadhoo and Hulhudhoo as well as 9 cases from Meedhoo.

At present, a total of 980 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Addu City, out of which, 727 people have made full recoveries. Only three deaths have been recorded from Addu City to date
