Maldives Defence Minister invited to review the Indian Naval Academy’s Passing-out Parade

Malé, Maldives – The Maldives Minister of Defence Mariya Didi today departed to India on an official visit.

Defence Minister Mariya will grace the Passing-out Parade (POP) of the Indian Naval Academy and is the first foreign Defence Minister to inaugurate this event.

In an event described as a “Special gesture for a time-honoured partnership!” by the Indian High Commission in the maldives, the newly appointed High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Maldives Munu Mahawar saw off the Maldives Defence Minister prior to her departure to India.

During her six day visit to Kochi and Kannur, Defence Minister Mariya will visit training facilities and interact with officers of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) undergoing training in India.

The Defence Minister was recieved by Rear Adm and Mrs TVN Prasanna VSM, CSO(Trg), HQSNC.
