Malé, Maldives – The Ministry of Finance, today, launched government procurement portal, “Beelan Portal.”
The Beelan Portal provides information regarding new projects introduced by the government and provides opportunity to submit project proposals online.
With this portal, the bidder can register to the portal through an online form, register as a bidder and proceed to bid on government contracts.
Launching the portal, Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer stated that the most critical aspect of the Beelan portal is to maintain the confidentiality of bids while decreasing the costs associated with submitting proposals.
Foreign companies can also bid through the online portal.
Minister Ameer said that the challenges in physically submitting bid proposals were exposed with the Covid-19 pandemic highlighting the necessity for an online system.
“There were many requests by bidders to go online,” added Minister Ameer.
