Parliament to open for the year 2022 on 3rd February

Malé, Maldives – The Parliament of Maldives announced that the first parliament sitting for the first session of this year has been scheduled on 3 February 2021.

The first sitting, also a public holiday, is scheduled two days prior to the Komdoo by-election date, 5 February 2021.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will give a presidential address at the inaugural sitting as per Article 84 of the Maldives Constitution.

The parliament went to recess upon the completion of the session on 29 November 2021.
