Govt. of Maldives condemns attacks on Saudi Arabia, UAE

Malé, Maldives – The Government of Maldives released a statement today condemning the attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on 23 and 24 January 2022.

The statement read that the recent escalation and continuation of such acts of terrorism targeting civilian areas and economic infrastructure demonstrate a threat to the security of the region and the wider world. Adding that the attacks also hinder the ongoing peace efforts being made by the concerned parties and the international community to resolve the conflicts in the region.

The Government of Maldives reaffirmed its solidarity with the people and the Governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and reiterates its steadfast commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
