Malé, Maldives – Police have decided not to pursue prosecution of the Dhaandhoo Council President Mohamed Asif due to insufficient evidence.
In August 2021, phones belonging to the Dhaandhoo Council President Mohamed Asif and multiple others were seized with court warrants for allegedly leaking information pertaining to a drug bust.
The Council President’s defense lawyer Muhthaz Muhsin stated that the claims were baseless allegations schemed by a powerful political rival.
