Third batch of ambulances procured via STO arrive in Malé

Malé, Maldives – State Trading Organization (STO) informed that the third batch of ambulances were brought to the capital Malé earlier today.

We aim to dispatch this additional 15 ambulances to the respective islands soon.

This is the third shipment of the ambulances procured by the State Trading Organization (STO) in connection to the MOU signed by STO and the Ministry of Health on 10 June 2021 to bring 96 ambulances for the islands within 180 days, due on 7 December 2021.

The first batch of ambulances were brought to the Maldives on 13 October 2021 and shipped to respective islands on 19 October 2021. The second shipment arrived in Malé on 25 November 2021 and were dispatched to the islands on 15 December 2021.

While the government planned to dispatch 60 ambulances to the islands by the end of 2021, 40 were dispatched.

With the most recent shipment, 41 ambulances remain from the 96 agreed with STO.
