Velana International Airport breaks records with 839 air traffic movements

Male’, Maldives – Velana International Airport (VIA) has broken records with 839 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) on Saturday.

On 19 February 2022, 210 runway and 629 seaplane base movements were recorded at VIA.

The previous record was set on 2 January 2022 with 826 ATMs.

set a new Air Traffic Movement (ATM) record.
There were 210 runway ATMs and 629 seaplane ATMs.
A total of 839 ATMs were made, setting a new record.

Arrivals to the Maldives have increased significantly since the beginning of 2022, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, 210,184 tourists have arrived in the Maldives to date this year.
