Roberto Carlos to attend Maldives Sports Award

Malé, Maldives – Former World Cup Winner and current Director of Institutional Relations for Real Madrid Roberto Carlos has accepted an invitation to attend the Maldives Sports Award 2022.

The news was announced on Monday by Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof, who thanked the former Brazilian footballer also known as the free kick maestro, for accepting the invitation to attend the awards.

Awards to be given out during the Maldives Sports Award 2022 to be held on 17th March are:

  • Athlete of the Year Award (Male/Female)
  • Specially Abled Athlete of the Year Award (Male/Female)
  • Sports Journalist of the Year Award
  • Media of the Year Award (Online/Broadcasting)
  • Sports Medic of the Year Award
  • Male and Female Technical Official of the Year Award
  • Male and Female Coach of the Year Award
  • Most Promising Young Athlete of the Year Award (Male/Female)

In addition to Carlos, volleyball champion Gilberto Godoy and professional wheel chair tennis athlete Gordon Reid are also confirmed to attend the event.
