Maldives Immigration issues Notice to Appear for 45 foreigners

Malé, Maldives – Maldives Immigration has issued a “Notice to Appear” for 45 foreigners residing in the Maldives.

The notices were issued on 20th March and included names, pictures, ages and countries of the individuals who, the Immigration has described as “immigration offenders”.

Among the individuals notified to appear are 8 females and 37 males. This includes 34 Bangladeshis, 3 Indians, 2 Nigerians, and one individual from Thailand, Italy, UK, Sri Lanka, Philippines and Ethiopia each.

The list of forty-five foreigners mentioned below are immigration offenders, and they are required to attend the Expatriate Monitoring and Repatriation Division (during office hours) of Maldives Immigration within 7 days of the announcement.

It has been reported that all 45 individuals in this list are wanted for various cases being investigated by multiple sections of the authority.

While issuing such notices to appear is common for Immigration, this is the first time the authority has issued a Notice to Appear for so many individuals at once.
