Malé, Maldives – Owing to a ransomware attack on STELCO’s systems, the company’s online services have been suspended indefinitely.
In a statement released by the company, it was explained that the website, mobile application, mobile outlets and all services provided over the counter by STELCO have been interrupted as of Thursday.
STELCO further added that it is likely that resuming these services would take some time, but assured the public that the IT engineers of the company are working non-stop to resolve the issues. STELCO also apologised to the public for any inconveniences this may cause.
STELCO’s statement regarding the attacks came three days after local IT expert Dr. Nash Rafeeq revealed that the company’s systems were under attack.
