Male’, Maldives –State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has launched their first “Green Life Solar Pod” systems in Maldives.
The systems were launched during an event that was held at the Usfasgandu Helipad on Wednesday night and officially inaugurated by the Chairman of the STELCO Board, Mohamed Rasheed during the event.
While speaking at the event, the Managing Director for STELCO, Hassan Mughunee said that this is an initiative by STELCO as part of its effort to promote clean energy alternatives.
Mughunee also noted that these systems are environmentally friendly and is a much cheaper and energy-efficient design.
The “Green Life Solar Pod” can produce renewable energy through world-class solar panels and is able to offer a 25-year warranty when maintained properly. It has been created with minimum resources and crafted after analyzing the world’s best over-water solar panel systems for both rivers and oceans.
If any party is interested in purchasing the “Green Life Solar Pod”, STELCO informed that it will be available as early as on 2021. They also informed that currently only the standard sizes are available which will consist of eight and 16 panel systems. However, they said that changes can be made to the sizes offered depending on the public demand.
