Malé, Maldives – Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on Tuesday announced that 629 housing units will be provided for its employees from Hulhumalé Phase II.
In an internal memo circulated to employees, HDC stated that the company will provide housing units to employees who meet certain requirements.
The requirements for HDC housing include,
- Held a permanent position at HDC for over a year.
- Be a Maldivian citizen.
- Not be on a no pay leave for more than one year.
- Not be a recipient of HDC 12 residence project.
- Have cleared 3 years after last job warning.
Speaking to local news Mihaaru, the Managing Director of HDC stated that while the construction of housing units was interrupted due to a lack of funds, the finances have not been arranged to continue the project.
While the current units are built in the same area as the other Phase II residences, plans are underway to build another unit. This unit is not covered under a government guarantee.
