Addu City, Maldives – Over 3,000 people have signed a petition and submitted to four authorities calling for the release of 59 year old janitor arrested for the sexual abuse of a 6 year old school student.
Aimindhatha was arrested in the southern region for the sexual abuse of a minor on 25 March 2022 and was remanded to custody till end of trial.
The petition organizers allege that the woman who has been working as a janitor for an Addu City school for 29 years was framed.
The appeal case for the remand of Aimindhatha is now being heard at the Maldives High Court
