India to donate equipment for Coast Guard

Malé, Maldives – Maldives National Defence Force has revealed that India will be donating some equipment to Maldives Coast Guard.

These equipment are to be donated to the two MNDF Coast Guard ships, Huravee and Kaamiyaabu. This was announced during an official trip of Chief of Naval Staff to India, Admiral R. Hari Kumar, to the Maldives, which is expected to continue until the 20th of this month.

As part of the trip, Admiral Hari Kumar is also scheduled to meet with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Defence Minister Mariya Didi, as well as Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdullah Shamaal. A meeting with the leadership of MNDF has also been scheduled.

MNDF says that this visit will further strengthen the relationship between the armies of both countries.
