Maldives Customs Service intercepts methamphetamines worth MVR 500000

Malé, Maldives – The Maldives Customs Service on Saturday reported that the authority had seized 1.363 Kgs of methamphetamines smuggled into the Maldives via courier service.

The drugs were discovered during an examination of suspicious substances imported into the Maldives via air freight on 28 April 2022. Upon testing, the substance in the parcels was found to be methamphetamines.

The drugs have an estimated street value of MVR 500,000.
