Lh. Atoll, Maldives – Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) confirmed on Tuesday that a shark has attacked a fisherman in Lh. Atoll.
The fisherman was attacked as he fell overboard near Lh. Maafilaafushi. Nothern Area Coast Guard Squadron is heading towards the boat at this time.
The captain of the fishing boat reports that the victim has suffered minor injuries.
UPDATE
MNDF updated that the fisherman from the fishing vessel “Shawona” was transported by Nothern Area Coast Guard Squadron to the nearest hospital after the case was first reported at 10:57 today.
The victim is identified as a 62-year-old Maldivian man.
